Students begin fundraising in jointly-organised Operation Santa Claus Fun4Funds Challenge

Support! International Foundation, today (24 November 2017), in partnership with Operation Santa Claus, a joint-initiaitve by South China Morning Post and Radio Television Hong Kong, organised the Fun4Funds Introductory Workshop & Launch at RTHK's headquarters in Kowloon Tong. The Foundation is a co-organiser of this event and volunteering youth leaders within the organisation to mentor student participants.

With around 100 students participating from different schools, both local and international, in Hong Kong, each student team had the opportunity to watch a live interview with SCMP's Chief Executive Officer Gary Liu and RTHK's Teen Time host Alyson Hau. Mr. Liu is also a director of Support! International Foundation. In addition, students came ready with fundraising ideas. They had the good opportunity to present and pitch these ideas to our panel judges, which consisted of RTHK's Head of English Programme Service Hugh Chiverton, SCMP's Chief Executive Officer Gary Liu, and Foundation President Joseph Wan.

At the end of the pitches, the panel judges had the opportunity to share their thoughts on how each team could strengthen their ideas and projects. Wishing them well, President Joseph Wan commented, "Put trust in yourself and in your peers. Seek advice from your mentors who can guide you in the best direction". With all youth mentors, who are Youth Directors within the organisation, Vice President, Community Development Alex Yu noted that he knew that they would be invaluable to each student project. "These mentors really are young people who know how to organise and organise well", he commented.
